Cool moment here. Doc wasn't sure if Darryl was coming after having heart attack in March. Strawberry wasn't up to doing a media session but I talked to him briefly. Showed me the portable defibrillator he carries w/him. Flew from St. Louis. 'I had to be here for Doc,' he said.

Have been fortunate to work with Dwight Gooden a few times lately. He’s as a nice a person as you can imagine, and still a true Mets fan. Should be a special day.

Aaron Hicks, Joey Gallo, Darin Ruf, Daniel Vogelbach etc etc. At a certain point, booing in NY changed to counterproductive bullying. Teams have been trying to figure out what to do. On Friday , Mets fans tried something different.

This was definitely true in the clubhouse. The Lindor ovations were deeply felt and appreciated -- and noted by players as a contrast to the toxic booing of certain Mets and Yankees in recent years.

Column for sny.tv: As significant as the Mets winning a series in Atlanta is after the slow start, the way they won, showing toughness, fight, and even a killer instinct, may well say a lot about the makeup of this team. tinyurl.com/85xsfvya

Want to boost this one more time, because book promotion aside, I think Yankee fans will really learn about their manager from Bret’s insights about the Boone family, Aaron as a kid , and the conversations he has with Aaron now.

The Mets appear to be turning into the competitive team that they expected to be, and that many expected to see.

This was a unique chance to talk about a character in a book I wrote with the brother of that character.
Bret offers incredible insight into Aaron Boone as a little boy, how that connects to his managerial style, and how he knows AB's praise of players is authentic. Thanks Bret!

He was really , really good tonight. I was just clarifying that those pitches were identified incorrectly by the algorithm

Carlos Rodon threw a few pitches tonight that gameday /scoreboard/tv has as 4seam fastballs and were 88-89 mph. This seemed either wrong or concerning. It was the former. He told me they were cutters. This will artificially lower his average fastball velo. End of nerd tweet
