This will be an exciting project to watch, and even better to join if you're looking for a postdoc to expose more of the inner workings of the brain!

Ok, so here's the situation. My 2 ARC DP grants this round were unsuccessful. After 5 years in academia, on a background of 10 yrs in industry post-PhD, 3 yrs PhD + another 7 yrs non-professional work experience, it's not working. Academia isn't right for me. Anyone hiring?

You know that old expression, "it's better to do something than nothing"? That clearly isn't true when it comes to under-powered experiments. They mislead you; they waste time, money and animals. They can cost millions to correct. Better to do nothing than an N=3 mouse study.

I normally don't post current lab work, but this is so beautiful for #FluorescenceFriday 🤩! Upgrading to the new ZEISS Microscopy Celldiscoverer is bringing so many great details of our matrix cultures to light! Just need to pick a colour scheme among these gems💎Inventia Life Science

Wow... 80% of genes are differentially expressed in living versus post-mortem prefrontal cortex tissue. Importantly implications for studying the 'living' biology of the human brain, rather than heavy reliance on what post-mortem tissue shows us. medrxiv.org/content/10.110…
