🚨Another paper published under funding from NERC The Plastic Vectors Project 🚨 ‘Selective microbial attachment to LDPE plastic beads during passage through the wastewater’. A great feeling to see your study you designed with your colleagues be published!#wastewater sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Following our global project meeting last week, we also had the pleasure to host some of our Sri Lankan & Chinese partners back at Bangor University - with more partners from India & Sri Lanka expected in the next few months for more research exchange 🤓🥰 🇱🇰🇮🇳🇨🇳

Our Plastic Legacy in Soil global project meeting was a great opportunity to discuss preliminary inter-laboratory comparison data for #microplastic extractions from different media. All part of our global soil survey to assess MP pollution levels on farms actively using mulch films🤓

📣Check out our newest paper, led by Martine Graf , on how the application of LDPE, PLA/PBAT, and no #plastic mulch film affect N partitioning, plant development, & soil properties in a maize field experiment ⬇️⬇️⬇️ sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

📢 Check out our newest paper led by Michaela Reay & Martine Graf on how nutrient availability limits microbial PHBV #microplastic degradation at high concentrations in soil in a mesocosm experiment #OpenAccess ⬇️⬇️⬇️ pubs.rsc.org/en/Content/Art…

📣 New paper led by Michaela Reay on low molecular additives & metals in >50 #LDPE & biodegradable #plastic mulch films and their leachates, and the potential environmental burden this could place on agricultural farmland in China. ⬇️#OpenAccess here ⬇️ sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

🥳 New paper out today! Read all about the assessment of 4 artificial #degradation methods for #LDPE & #biodegradable #plastic mulch films according to rate, efficiency, and similarity to field ageing 🤓 #OpenAccess Plastic Legacy in Soil ⬇️⬇️⬇️ doi.org/10.1007/s10924…

With all Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) Natural Environment Research Council funded #plastic projects coming to an end after 4 years, we come together this week at Brunel University of London to present main findings & discuss implications, policy & what lies ahead.
