Visa regimes are deeply unequal. The poorer the country the higher rejection rates.

This undermines global cooperation and is a particular thorny issue in Africa Europe relations.

2/3 Here is the catch: African countries are disproportionately affected by high rejection rates of short term European visas. This evident discrimination undermines cooperation including on returns.
