Hundreds of school kids going hungry every single day. Kids sent to school with a bag of crisps. This is not OK. You can understand why these vulnerable children become easy targets to criminal gangs swarming around like hyenas.

Two thirds of all constituencies have at least a quarter of children living in poverty. Yet we are still waiting to hear from political leaders about their plans to urgently tackle hardship if they win this General Election. Find out more from End Child Poverty CRSP 🔽

I gave this interview to the BBC in 2019. I was a care home manager at the time, trying to build a career and help people like me. I quickly realised that children in our care system were not on the governments priority list. Fast forward to 2024, and it's still exactly the same.

The severe suffering of 3 million children at the sharpest end of our poverty emergency is unseen and unreported. These are austerity’s children – millions of boys and girls living through what is for them the “hungry 20s” in food bank Britain. theguardian.com/politics/ng-in…

Afghan girls have now lost 1,000 days of education that they can never retrieve or bring back. It’s time the whole world united to demand that the Taliban deliver every girl's basic human right. #AfghanGirlsVoices

This weekend will be the 8th anniversary of Jo’s murder. We’ll be marking it by celebrating her life & what would have been her coming 50th birthday! Our kids are putting on a mini concert of her favourite songs & we’ll be remembering all she meant to us and to so many others.

This General Election, political leaders still need to tell us what urgent action they will take to tackle hardship at source. Without this, they can't fix the public services we all rely on. 📖 Read the report: jrf.org.uk/deep-poverty-a… (5/5)

Just discovered giving people nice stones or rocks you come across is called pebbling and used by penguins to show interest in a potential partner. Apologies to anyone I have ever given a pretty rock to if this has confused you. I just pebble people I like and care about 🥰

“One morning we’ll wake up &it’s gone.” Impassioned, erudite speech from Lord Murphy opening the debate on #Opera in House of Lords. I was moved 2hear 1 after another parliamentarian speak up, many citing the information I’d sent them. They get it. Why won’t our govts? #SaveWNO
