This issue of Anglo "softness" comes up a lot and I think it's worth refuting some common tropes. Anglos are rebuked for their apparently childlike innocence but this misses the forest for the trees. Credulous naivete and ingenuity are inseparable phenomena in the Anglo soul.

Fewer things more annoying than people adding the film stock outline to their digital photos. When this is done with film it's the photographer saying "look how good my composition is, I didn't crop it." I find it silly, but it works with what Araki was doing here.
