After a day of issues with the TWIC website it's back up - whisper it quietly - it's flying. I'm aware of potential bottlenecks, too many live broadcasts, displaying large PGN files etc. Yesterday came out of nowhere and I have no explanation, which isn't helpful.

Scoring Norway Chess conventionally, without Armageddon, Nakamura would be 2nd on tie-break ahead of Caruana, half a point clear of Gukesh instead of 4th. All other placings the same. In the women's event all the placings would have been the same with Muzychuk 1st on TB from Lei

Was just checking the Dos Hermanas Active tournament. The time control is 8 minute + 3 seconds a move which I believe is rapid. 60 moves at 3 seconds a move is 3 minutes, plus 8 is 11 minutes and blitz is less than 10 minutes.

If one photo from the world rapid and blitz teams championship 2025 could be made into a painting it would be this one. You can see me getting emotional in the corner watching khagan from our team outplaying nakamura. What a moment for this young child..happy I got to witness it.

There was a thumping 9.5-3.5 win for Anish Giri over HansNiemann44 in their rerematch (they had a rematch on June 4th and an original match last year) on endgame.ai . I extracted the games for viewing and download. theweekinchess.com/chessnews/even…
