Has anyone in the government put out an estimate for the cost of doing this? Surely it is billions. (UBC's Integrated Renewal Program costs were about $650 million in the budget of the program, but real costs were likely 30 to 50% higher if we costs throughout the system.)

No one ever seems to mention what would normally be a natural consequence of too much supply: the price falls. This has happened, of course, but clearly not enough in some parts of the market.

For the millionth time, the Bank of Canada does not target "four measures". It targets all-items CPI inflation. And, there is no benchmark for food prices. The BoC doesn't target food prices or any other specific component of the CPI because it can't.

I am waiting for an opinion piece based on a deep read of the Cowichan decision. This isn't it. The Cowichan explicitly excluded fee simple private owners from their case (para. 1658 of the judgement).

The "checks and balances" system in the US Constitution assumes most of the actors in the system will act with integrity. When they don't, the system sustains corruption.
