Poor #airquality will persist in parts of the Lower 48 over the next few days, driven by two high-pressure systems. One over eastern Canada is pulling #wildfiresmoke into New England, the Mid-Atlantic, and Ohio Valley. Another over the Southwest is sending #smoke into the Plains.

After a quiet start to #HurricaneSeason, models now hint at increased activity in the Atlantic in mid-August. A stronger wave may emerge off Africa early next week, with potential #tropical development near the Lesser Antilles around August 16. One to watch between August 17–21.
