Went into my 8th grade guys small group last night assuming “1 month to go, and it’s May; they’re going to be absolutely wild!” Nope, wrong again. Super chill, super focused. After 42 years, middle school ministry is as unpredictable for me as it ever has been. Part of the fun!

Travel misery: first flight is delayed just enough that even though you run through 3 concourses, you arrive at your next gate 3 minutes after boarding ends for your homebound leg. Travel joy: you discover that your airline knew you were coming and held the plane for you.

At the annual gathering of ministry friends I’ve been meeting with in Grand Lake CO for 13 years. A bunch of us just went on a beautiful hike.

Our 13th year of meeting together for encouragement, laughter, and deep sharing. It’s like a family reunion. So thankful for these friends.
