Excellent discussion with #Thailand’s MFA DG International Organisations Pinsuda about strengthening collaboration between 🇬🇧 and 🇹🇭 in the UN, jointly supporting peace and stability, humanitarian assistance, and sustainable development.

Enjoyed a lively discussion with #Thailand’s Trade Representative Werapong Prapha on strengthening 🇬🇧🇹🇭 trade and investment as well as global economic developments.

Great day cycling through Lamphun province to Chiang Mai in advance of official meetings tomorrow.

Visiting the historic #Chiangmai Foreign Cemetery to hear about their work repairing damage from last year’s floods and raising awareness of its history among visitors.

Busy but productive day in #ChiangMai focussed on the assistance we provide British people in northern #Thailand, including meetings with the Provincial Governor, Chief of Police and resident British community.

With UK visitor numbers to #Thailand increasing quickly to over a million in 2024, it was good to catch up with 🇹🇭 Tourism Minister Sorawong to discuss our assistance for British nationals, including on road safety, support to victims of crime, and tackling cannabis smuggling.

Enjoyed hosting this year’s #Thailand delegation to London Tech Week London Tech Week, the UK’s flagship tech event next month which will attract 45,000 global leaders in digital and tech. Huge opportunities for 🇬🇧 and 🇹🇭 to create new partnerships and spur innovation.
