Just after the atrocities of March 15, New Zealand & the whole of Parliament was congratulated for how we as a country had shown leadership on the issue. A proud moment for NZ on the international stage. A law change will make our country, our communities and the police less safe

We are making negative headlines on the other side of the world. The article mentions austerity policies, rising unemployment and an unprecedented exodus of people. “NZs braindrain”. “New Zealand doesn’t need me”. trouw.nl/buitenland/imm…

Wild weather in the north. Day four of the power cut. Hopefully we won’t break the record of 10 days without power like we did in 2023🤞 take care everyone stay safe out there.

Looks like we will go in to day five tomorrow without power. The joys of rural living. All houses on the first 3 1/2km of the road had power restored this morning. They told us 3pm then 9 or 10pm - not holding my breath.

Tomorrow will be day seven without power. And of course being rural on tank water, it also means no water. The Vector website keeps getting updated stating the issue is resolved and every day we have to report the outage again.

50+ years after the Equal Pay Act, the govt once again pushes through law that will keep women trapped in low-paid jobs. Heartbreaking for those who‘ve spent decades fighting for fair&decent wages, and the many women who have been waiting for their long-overdue chance at equity.
