Before heading back to Cotonou, I did a tour of Porto Novo and came across this summer youth group leading a procession across town so I started hyping them up and then they decided to hype me up in return ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜

Last week, I got an email from Microsoft telling me Iโ€™d be paying 46% more for my Office subscription. But when I tried to cancel, it offered me the same price I was already paying โ€” without the generative AI features I never asked for in the first place. disconnect.blog/p/ive-had-it-wโ€ฆ

Being in Cotonou has, once again, reminded me of the arbitrary nature of the colonial borders we still inhabit. I had no idea I could get around so easily speaking Guingbe/Ewe. Also, Cotonou is not celebrated enough for just how cool, lively, and cosmopolitan it is!

Last night, I went to a local resto in Cotonou to watch some live drumming and there was a group of women who arrived deck out, drinking, dancing and just enjoying the music. I was in awe of them. I absolutely love watching African women at leisure.

Spent this past weekend in Hogbonu (Porto Nobo) @ the 2nd annual Festival des Masques. It was a stunning celebration of indigenous African cosmologies, music, culture, and food. I especially loved that the events were free & communities across Benin showed up in massive numbers
