A 3D map of mRNA transcripts in a zebrafish embryo. This video was not made using a microscope. Researchers tag nucleotides with barcodes, which then "link" together in the tissue. Sequencing those links can then be used to computationally infer the 3D positions of genes.

Precise DNA integration is key for many therapies, but inserting large, scarless sequences remains challenging. What if we could reprogram nature's mobile elements for programmable genome writing? Today we (+ Omar Abudayyeh) debut Stitchr in nature

Magnitude of current heatwave is incredible! The forecast for tuesday shows an unprecedented area with temp. > 40°C 😱 Never before has it been so hot over such a large area (and so early!) 🔥 The vertigo of having to live like this for the rest of your life Data Météo-France
