Q1: How can we make sure we use technology positively to bond our students together? #SELtech

A1: I think mindful use of technology can build bridges, while use of technology without intention can build walls. Technology is a tool, and choosing the right tool for the job makes a huge difference. I love to follow their lead and let their needs drive instruction . #SELtech

Q2: How can teachers utilize technology to provide feedback that prompts a growth mindset ? #SELtech

A1: Simply teaching them the ethical way of using technology is enough for some kids. Monitoring their usage also helps and can be a teaching moment in your class. #seltech

A2 - I think any technology that provides feedback is crucial, but what's even more important is the ability to take that feedback, rework an assignment, and resubmit it. #SELtech #edchat #loyolaET #edtech #ET630

3rd Grade Teacher A3: I use Mentimeter and Padlet as daily check-ins to foster conversation. The check-ins can arrange from ask me anything questions to show a picture of how you’re feeling today. #SELtech

Q4 How as teachers can we reflect or model on our own emotional intelligence with our students and colleagues? #SELtech

A4 - I am very open and honest with my students. I apologize when I make mistakes, I even go back and apologize if I might have been a bit cranky when they didn't deserve it. #SELtech #edchat #loyolaET #edtech #ET630

Q6 What is a school/districts social responsibility to students various needs; I.E: IEP, 504, ELL, ED, Socioeconomic #SELtech

A6: Schools and districts must meet the needs of our students It is a highly effective place to deliver services to them, but the reality is that our infrastructure was not built for it and we need the appropriate amount of staff and resources to address their needs. #SELtech

A6: We recently hired a school therapist which I believe is extremely helpful. We also have an active peer mediation coordinator and students who assist. I would love to see more resources for our black and brown boys. #SELtech
