A6: More teachers learn the value to collaboration, move away from reinventing the wheel, and more teachers have more access to one another's brilliance. And teachers have a chance to rethink their curriculum, are inspired to do more project-based, authentic stuff #COVID19ed

A1: Maria Fenwick here, former BostonPublicSchools teacher (4th grade) and founder of TeacherCollaborative. Here to listen to everyone's ideas. We work to make great ideas and solutions to common challenges accessible to more teachers across MA! #RemoteLearningMA

Such a good point. I hear this a lot and feel like this is true often: people mean well. What have been your go-to resources for learning more, if you wouldn't mind sharing?

A2A: My town (including the middle school) is reading Waking Up White as a community read. I haven't started it yet, though. #commit2art

A4: shared language would be helpful in building community across teachers re: how we talk about race and racism amongst teachers, students, families, etc. #commit2art

Random and doesn't necessarily belong to a question, but I am listening to Nice White Parents podcast Serial. Could make a great discussion piece for white parents involved in parent councils #commit2art

Coming soon: a slow chat version of tonight's #Commit2ART chat. We are looking forward to hearing more about what teachers need. TeacherCollaborative is here to support.

A1: During this first month back to school, I have felt most successful as an educator when my students gave me feedback on my new best practices. We’ve found a way to collaborate, engage, learn virtually & have created a solid virtual learning environment. #BetterTogetherinMA

The reason why many people, esp. mothers, have empathy for the mother in Duxbury is because postpartum psychosis could’ve happened to any of us. She wasn’t a sociopath or deadbeat. She was PROUD to be a mom. She loved her kids. If it could happen to her, it could happen to anyone
