Jumped headfirst into the audiobook game: ✅ Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins ✅ Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey First one gets you ready to run through a brick wall; second has you on a flight to S. America to float naked in the Amazon River 😂

My last Olympic Trials 10k: -Accepted in ~48 hours before the race -Flew east to west coast the next day -Needed uniform and spikes overnight delivered to my hotel -Showed up seeded 26th -Finished 7th Whirlwind week, but let’s say I’m a touch more prepared this time

No Hayward magic for me tonight. Things were looking good, but sometimes there’s no good reason for a bad day. Thanks for the support! #backtothemarathon

For what it’s worth, I technically avoided being lapped by 0.01 seconds AND was the first to congratulate Woody Kincaid as he became an Olympian !

Unsurprisingly, it’s easier to train hard when you’re no longer working intern hours. Last month avg work hrs/wk: 45 Last month avg miles/wk: 96 Feels good to be back and laying the foundation for TCS New York City Marathon

Week by the Numbers: -45 hours worked -106 miles run -New work-miles PR of 151 (Though IMO my 72hr/78miles last winter was more impressive)

Didn’t drop out. Prolly should have. But I had way too much love + support out there to not finish. Ran great (aka kinda dumb) in the heat for half marathon before being reduced to an agonizing shuffle. TCS New York City Marathon delivered the hardest race of my life, but NYers don’t quit.
