ok, its 2025 and its time for a refresher on the "best software engineering roadmap of all time." this will help you at every stage of your career * work out * read * drink water * eat better * sleep properly * go to church * touch grass * make friends

Gemini is all over the place, mostly free. Llama is open source and easily available. If you're OpenAI, your business model is untenable. A year from now, no one will want to pay for something that will be as basic (and ubiquitous) as Google Search was.

Nando's and Chick-fil-A are both opening a store minutes from my house. I'm thinking of selling my kitchen and building a home cinema instead. I won't need to cook anyway.

Having done serverless for years, I just don't understand what kind of complex code people are writing that makes AI seem like a superpower. My code is mostly glue. AI helps a bit, sure, but it's minutes saved. Not hours, not days. It barely makes a dent.

Uninterrupted time is the secret sauce that nobody seems to appreciate in tech. We interrupt ourselves all the time between Slack and meetings, and then we think that AI will make us more productive.

Anthropomorphization of intermediate tokens as reasoning/thinking traces isn't quite a harmless fad, and may be pushing LRM research into questionable directions.. So we decided to put together a more complete argument.. 👇🧵 1/

Don't ask AI anything you wouldn't want opposing counsel to read during discovery. Anything you say may indeed be used against you in a court of law. This is infinitely worse than "your Google searches reveal a lot about you". arstechnica.com/tech-policy/20…

BREAKING: Apple just proved AI "reasoning" models like Claude, DeepSeek-R1, and o3-mini don't actually reason at all. They just memorize patterns really well. Here's what Apple discovered: (hint: we're not as close to AGI as the hype suggests)

i am still 100% convinced if you are getting 100x faster you are delusional or you were so bad at programming to begin with let me explain 1. 100x = 3.5 days == what you did in 1 year delusional or really really bad at programming
