This is probably the biggest problem in the entire medical profession. If you can't find a MD, this is why. If you have to wait for an MD, this is why. If your visit with your MD is too short, this is why. If good clinicians are leaving clinical medicine, this is why:

Every year at this time, I am reminded of 26 years ago when I was informed I did not match. I took a prelim year, switched specialties, and matched the next year (as a PGY-1 *again*). Now in my 19th year of level 1 trauma. Remember, there is more than one way to do things.

Can’t believe it’s already been 4 years. It’s bittersweet, but happy to see this memorial installed at the surgery center at HCMC. It was a project Jeff was so instrumental in building.
