On our way to Mbeya from Iringa, we met the ‘crazy’ Japanese adventurer, Gump Suzuki, currently crossing Africa on foot with his rickshaw! His journey is pure adventure and unbreakable spirit. There’s truly no excuse not to explore - just guts and a lot of determination!

We arrived in Mbeya last evening to a chilly but beautiful campsite nestled in the farms. The crisp air and serene surroundings are the perfect backdrop to unwind. As the sun set, we gathered around the campfire, sharing stories and reminiscing about the day under the stars.

Malawi - Songwe Border was a test of patience. Waited for 8 hours as we fought to get our documents processed. This frustrating experience is a stark reminder of the challenges of inter-African travel. As Africans, we should be able to move freely across our beautiful continent.

After the frustration at the border, we settled into our first Malawian campsite in Chitimba and it was worth the wait. The serene lakeside, breathtaking sunsets and warm campfires melted away the day’s frustrations. These are the little moments that remind us why we journey.

Mosi-oa-Tunya - ‘The Smoke That Thunders’ a.k.a Victoria Falls - comes alive. The sheer power of the Falls, mist rising like smoke and the thunderous roar remind us of nature’s raw beauty. This is why we journey, to find the breathtaking, the unforgettable.

When the views are this epic, you just have to take to the skies. As we glide over the Falls, the sight of the Zambezi cascading down is pure magic. You’re not just seeing the Falls; you’re living them. This is a moment that stays with you long after the chopper lands.

There's something magical about floating down the Zambezi at sunset. The colours of the sky blend into the water and everything just feels right. The laughter shared, the quiet reflections and just the simple joy of being here.

After a grueling 700 km journey from Lusaka, traversing the rugged, remote stretches of Zambia, we finally arrived at Kapishya Hot Springs. Stepping into the crystal-clear, warm waters made all the aches, dust and long hours fade away - replaced by pure serenity.

Waking up to the golden sunrise over L. Tanganyika, Africa’s deepest lake, feels surreal. The calm water, swaying palms and vast blue sky create a peaceful connection to the wild heart of Africa. Standing on the sandy shores, you can’t help but feel deeply rooted in this moment.

Heart pounding, adrenaline rushing - these are the sensations that tell you you've stepped beyond the familiar. Bungee jumping amplifies these feelings, as you stand on the edge, every fiber of your being screaming to hold back, yet something within urges you forward…

Not all heroes wear capes; some wear grease-stained shirts and crawl under cars. It hasn’t been all smooth sailing, our rigs decided to give us a crash course in roadside mechanics. But hey, what’s an overland adventure without a little drama? Keep calm and carry a spanner 🔧

As we wrap up our 18-day, 6,800 km L. Malawi and Victoria Falls Expedition, the journey feels complete, yet it leaves us yearning for more. The rugged landscapes, the endless roads, the vibrant sunsets, the crackling campfires, the shared meals — these moments will stay with us.
