For all our visitors who love the beach, the sea, boat rides and day trips – the perfect gift is a waterproof bag from the Museum of Apoxyomenos souvenir shop! 🌊💦 You can splash all you like – everything inside stays dry!

Although dogs are not allowed in the exhibition area of the Museum of Apoxyomenos, we are happy to welcome them at the reception. This is Roza, who brightened our morning the other day while patiently waiting for her owners to explore the exhibition. 🐕

The atmosphere of the Black Room in our museum symbolizes the depth of the sea where the statue of Apoxyomenos lay forgotten for centuries, and it provides visitors with scientific facts about the ancient sculpture.

Today, a reenactment of Emperor Franz Joseph's arrival on the island of Lošinj was held right in front of our museum, with speeches delivered from our balcony.

Every detail of the bronze #Apoxyomenos tells a story of the craftsmanship of ancient sculpture. After 2,000 years beneath the sea, and undergoing meticulous restoration, our bronze boy remain a lasting testament to the beauty of form and sculptural skill that transcend time

Soon: exhibition “PROPUH / DRAFT” by Marika Kandelaki. As part of the “A Window into Art: One Artist, One Work, Art for All” program, the Museum of Apoxyomenos will present a work by Georgian artist Marika Kandelaki, from the collection of the Lošinj Museum. Opening: May 18th

Yesterday, on #InternationalMuseumDay, we opened the exhibition "Propuh / Draft" by artist Marika Kandelaki as a part of our ongoing program "A Window into Art: One Artist, One Work, Art for All", which brings contemporary art in our museum.

On the ground floor of our museum visitors can find the White Apoxyomenos — a replica of the original statue created as a tactile sculpture for people who are blind or visually impaired. Made from polyester resin it allows visitors to experience the form of the ancient athlete.
