For generations, Americans have answered the call to serve—taking the sacred oath to defend our ideals of liberty and democracy. These patriots represent the best of us. On Veterans Day, we honor their service, dedication, and valor and are forever grateful for their sacrifice.

The future of the auto industry is electric. With the infrastructure law and my Build Back Better Act, we are going to kickstart new battery and parts production, boost manufacturing of clean vehicles, and create new purchase incentives for clean vehicles made in America.

As a lot of folks know, I’m a car guy. I’ve gotten a chance to drive some pretty incredible vehicles over the years, but I never could have imagined ones like the electric vehicle I took for a spin today. The future is electric – and it will be made right here in America.

Yesterday, I traveled to New Hampshire to visit a bridge that will be transformed by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. We’re going to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure across the country and change people’s lives for the better.

We are experiencing the strongest economic recovery in the world. Even after accounting for inflation, our economy is bigger and families have more money in their pockets than they did before the pandemic. America is the only major economy in the world that can say that.

Jill and I know firsthand what it means to be a military family, and we’re so grateful for everything they do. It was an honor to celebrate an early Thanksgiving with them last night at Fort Bragg.

Harry Reid and I grew up on different sides of the country, but we came from the same place where certain values run deep. Loyalty. Faith. Resolve. Service. He was a dear friend, a great American, and a giant of our history. May he rest in peace.

My message to everyone impacted by the Marshall Fire is this: We’re here with you. I intend to do whatever it takes, as long as it takes to support you, your state and local government to help you recover and rebuild these communities.

Today, on National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, Jill and I want to thank the brave men and women who put their lives on the line to protect and serve our communities. Thank you for the sacrifices you and your families make to help keep Americans safe.
