The REPAIR Act, #AB1186, which San Francisco Public Defender's Office co-sponsors, has passed out of the Legislature and is headed for Gov. Gavin Newsom’s desk! This bill, introduced by Assemblymember Mia Bonta, improves the youth restitution system to help heal communities & reduce recidivism.

Excellent work by Mapping Police Violence documenting more than 1 million uses of police force in America showing that police agencies with higher budgets have a higher rate of use of force and that 83% of people subjected to force by police in America are unarmed.

An SF jury deliberated for＜15 minutes before acquitting San Francisco Public Defender's Office client Marcos Ortega of 2 counts of misdemeanor battery. Ortega verbally protested when 2 ppl cut in line in front of him & his daughters at an event at GG Park, but he was falsely accused of pushing them. 1/
