San Francisco Public Defender's Office is proud to co-sponsor #AB321, the Better Informed Decisions Act, introduced today by @AsmNickShultz! The #BIDAct would ensure that judges in criminal cases have the ability to review all relevant evidence before making crucial decisions.

I strongly support Supervisor Jackie Fielder’s inquiry into the SFPD car chase that led to 6 people being injured on Sunday, and I share her concerns about SFPD engaging in dangerous car chases.

Today, we honor the legendary Public Defender Jeff Adachi whom we lost too soon. In 2016, when our country was in a similar situation, Jeff reminded us that, "We all have to be public defenders now to defend our own humanity." We keep that torch lit San Francisco Public Defender's Office every day!

STATEMENT: 1. We are outraged by the District Attorney’s decision to reintroduce the death penalty in Los Angeles County. As Public Defenders, we push back on injustice and state violence every single day. And there is nothing more abhorrent than state-sanctioned murder.
