A huge effort by wonderful @asco volunteers. We hope these results spark action. It is crucial in the quest for #cancerhealthequity that policies support clinicians delivering #cancercare to predominantly low-income & racial and ethnic minoritized populations. Much to be done.
The inadequacy of fed funds for #longCovid research has led many investigators to seek private donors. The unprecedented level of collaboration & efficiency that has enabled is great, but it shines a spotlight on how broken the usual system is. npr.org/2024/02/06/122… #MedTwitter
On #WorldCancerDay , eliminating cancer care disparities should not just stay a message forever. It should become a real effort with major investment.
A basic start would be recognizing the fact that health care is a basic fundamental right for any society. And go from there.
