Opening remarks have been given at the CFIT III Workshop by our Chief Guest The Vice Chancellor of Makerere University, Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe and the Dean of Makerere University School of Engineering, Prof. Dorothy Okello. The stage is now active🔥 Mbarara University

"It is a golden opportunity that they are willing to open their funds to us." Kind words from the Vice chancellor of Makerere University, Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe as he reflected on the benefits of programs like CFIT III project and when grants given are used efficiently.

Some of a number Makerere University, School of engineering students and Mbarara University students exhibited innovations they developed. They explained in depth on how they created their innovation and what problems they are solving in the community with their projects.

The CFIT III Workshop keynote speech was given by Dr. Halid Kirunda, Director of research at NARO. He set the theme for the workshop beautifully and in-depth with a very informative speech. Mbarara University

UNESCO CFIT project impact presentations were given by both Makerere University and Mbarara University where they highlighted how impactful it has been to the institutions, students and the communities. They urge that such projects are extended to more universities in the country in the future.

Eye opening Panel discussions were carried out to discuss what it will take to move towards a competence based curriculum and Academia-industry linkages fostering technology transfer and innovations. Mbarara University
