For today’s #EconDevWeek feature, we’re highlighting businesses throughout the region that have pivoted to manufacture #PPE and hand sanitizer for front-line workers and community members. The creativity of Greater Portland’s business community is truly impressive!

A group of 3-D printing advocates led by Intel manager Shashi Jain organized MakerForce, a crowdfunded pop-up supply chain that allows anyone with a 3-D printer to produce PPE components for local hospitals. makerforce.org

Today, we shipped out our largest single order to date to fulfill a request of 3000 pieces of PPE from the Navajo Nation in Window Rock, Arizona. Their per capita infection rates are now higher than any US states. /1
