UN Sustainability Goal 10 calls for reducing, amongst others, inequalities in income and economic status within a country. It’s heartbreaking that tax payers are called to fund their own inequality. 😢

Today, #Ghana🇬🇭 is the first country in #Africa to receive #COVID19 vaccines as part of #COVAX. A historic milestone & a testament to what can be achieved when we come together for a common cause. Global solidarity & cooperation are essential in times of crisis.

These extraordinary times and circumstances of call for extraordinary measures. The US supports the waiver of IP protections on COVID-19 vaccines to help end the pandemic and we’ll actively participate in @WTO negotiations to make that happen.
