Went to the air and space museum and met these three navy frog men. They were the three that got Aldrin, Armstrong, and Collins from the Apollo 11 capsule. Very cool!

Went with the kids and family to Planet Word Museum today. It was great. Highly recommend it!!

I haven’t taught a course in a year due to parental leave. I haven’t taught 1050 in years. I never discuss middle eastern politics in my classes because I’m a chemistry prof. Memorial University, MUNFA, tell me again that there is no antisemitism and that Jews are safe.

When the war, I happened to be talking to a journal editor. I suggested a special issue with researchers who are from Israel and Palestine. I wanted to see the community come together by our similarities and not split by our differences. I think on this as I see the latter at MUN

This is new Elmo vs Elmo after his first three year term with my daughter (I believe his contract was renewed despite the new hire). New Elmo was brought on after old Elmo was left in the car while I was not home (we keep a backup Elmo). Ask me about Baba the puffin in 3 years.

While marking a midterm I marked the answer key. Gave myself a 3/3 on one question and a 0 on another one. Wrote nice! On the first question. I was impressed with the answer.

So the research team is struggling with getting the same crystal size. Seemingly identical preps are giving wildly different sizes. So the grad students each went in and followed the same procedure to see who gets the largest crystal size. Who do you think will win?

The competition results are in. Etienne got the largest crystals + impurities. Rodney 2nd. Mackenzie 3rd. We still don’t know the variable, but we think we are close. Normally crystal size wouldn’t bother me, but for this project it may be critically important.
