Remembrance is an important moment of the year when we show our support for our Armed Forces. Wearing a poppy and supporting the Royal British Legion is one way to thank the Armed Forces for the sacrifices they continue to make to protect our freedom.

Cadets at HMS Sultan planted their poppy garden for the 5th year running. The tradition started in 2020 & continues to honour those who served and sacrificed. With #RemembranceSunday approaching, we look back at past services - including our virtual service during the pandemic, where I had the honour of reading Don Crawford’s poem “Why Wear a Poppy.” Wearing a poppy is a simple act of remembrance - a tribute to courage and sacrifice.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn At the going down of the sun and in the morning We Will Remember Them.

On the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month, Volunteer Cadet Corps will pause to reflect on the courage, service and sacrifice of all those who have fought and died in war, conflicts and peace-keeping operations. #WeWillRememberThem #LestWeForget
