Are you in the Northeast? Are you curious about the ways in which #Native scholars are pushing historiographical boundaries through the use of alternative archives to #reclaim Native histories? If so, come to American & New England Studies Program on May 4 and hear this incredible slate of speakers!

I spent the morning cleaning up the back - clipping waxed ends, weaving in tails, releasing tense threads; then starched, baked, & ironed. It would have been better to do all this while it was still on the frame, but I didn't. All in all, came out OK (better than expected, tbh)

John Bulwer's 1653 book "Anthropometamorphosis," a diatribe about body modification which features more than one woodcuts of genital piercings, may be one of the strangest books ever published. It's now been digitized by Wellcome Library here: wellcomecollection.org/works/whuwskry…
