In 1775 the United States Post Office was established and named Benjamin Franklin as the first United States Postmaster General.

In the 1800s, mail was delivered by horse. But businesses and the public complained about how the mail was taking too long to arrive and started to use railroads and motorized trucks to move mail. 😤
