From today (26th April 2024), I will be retiring from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL), after more than 33 years of service. I am honoured to have the opportunity of continuing to serve as the Secretary to the Treasury and Ministry of Finance.

Going forward, Sri Lanka should be ready to obtain potential positive spillover effects of the growth in the neighboring/regional countries. Strong fiscal, monetary and structural policies are also required to address emerging challenges, effectively….
