Can't wait to show y'all the final seal, but carving clay seals is such a vibe. Here's where more traditional carvers will kill me, but in a sense it's even a bigger vibe than jade. Recently got this 4 by 8.5 cm clay seal. Couldn't wait to get home and carve it. 哀莫大于心死.

Can anyone help me find that specific part of the 战国策 where it mentions that Qin laws were so harsh that if someone dropped something on the streets, he could go back days later and find it there because people were afraid of taking it. Or was it Shang Yang's biography?

For the chapter in my book about Qin dynasty seals, I had to bust out Shang Yang and the legalists as sources, which I haven't done ever since I burned out and finished my PhD. GodDAMN, I love the legalists so much. Greatest current of thought humanity ever produced.
