روز کوروش بزرگ فرخنده باد. در ۷ آبان یک روز در گاهشمار غیررسمی و ملی ایران در گرامی‌داشت کوروش بزرگ بنیان‌گذار و نخستین پادشاه شاهنشاهی هخامنشی است. بر اساس رویدادنامه نبونعید، در تاریخ ۷ آبان ۵۳۹ (پیش از میلاد)، کوروش بزرگ وارد دولت‌شهر بابل شد و مردم گرفتار را آزاد کرد.
