Texas Instruments CD 40106 B | Schmitt Trigger from 1999. Marked the pinout according to TI datasheet. Bought this on eBay, decapped to see if it was original or Chinese fake. This is definitively original TI.

SIM Cards, the mysterious Java card OS systems used in our phones. Old 4G card I'm going to decap today.. This will be a multiple post decapping procedure so stay tuned 😛

I managed to remove the SIM card from the PVC body but what a surprise! It has anti-tampering plastic reinforced block 😅 Can it stop us? Let's find out 😌

Look like we have a bigger SIM chip here, let's hope I can remove it intact. "A little progress with anti-tampering plastic, I managed to separate it from the gold metal contacts of the SIM"

And here it is the progress over time of this old 4G SIM. Remains now to remove the chip and photograph it.

Finally we can see the SIM card chip 😁 A lot of memory there and some type of microcontroller core in the middle. Would be fun to photograph this 😌

Finally here it is.. The 4G SIM Card chip, probably running Java Card OS. It has a lot of memory and pretty dense core. oracle.com/java/java-card/
