This afternoons outing takes me to London, to sample the first working of an London Northwestern Railway class 730/2 train. Very smooth trains even at 110, with a very smart interior to accompany the ride quality.

From yesterdays brand new traction, to today where everything but new was on offer. A superb offering of primarily Volvo Bus UK & Ireland products dominate the decker scene in and around Aylesbury, and what a throwback! Plenty of old school haulage to enjoy.

Today’s positioning move for my latest trip sees travel into London using the amazing Reading Buses 701/702, before a very pleasant run up the WCML with Avanti West Coast, with the bonus of having 390121 ‘Opportunity’ to Crewe.

A fantastic day today, covering Edinburgh - Manchester, some 250 miles. Alexander Dennis products all the way, mostly from Stagecoach Cumbria however also featuring Borders Buses with their mammoth X95 to Carlisle.

After reaching Manchester, yesterdays travel took me to Reading (via Slough). A much more varied day, not only in the form of operators but also the vehicles travelled on, a global affair from Volvo Bus UK & Ireland to Yutong Bus & Coach. Some 500 miles travelled by local bus across both days!

A superb collection of buses observed today trundling along Scarborough seafront. A total PVR of 7 observed, with 1 of each type represented. Some healthy competition between East Yorkshire and Shoreline Suncruisers, providing a service of at least every 10 minutes.

Today’s travels involved a circuitous route around northern Wales, first up was the rather lovely Ffestiniog line. Trafnidiaeth Cymru Trenau Transport for Wales Rail provide a relatively sparse but usable service along the line.

Next up was a trip down the stunning Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways to Porthmadog. A real step back in time with beautifully restored carriages and locomotives alongside some truly breathtaking views.

Last but not least was a journey along the Cambrian Coast from Porthmadog to Shrewsbury. Another thoroughly enjoyable journey provided by Trafnidiaeth Cymru Trenau Transport for Wales Rail.

The sun is shinning and the ocean is calling! The last few days I’ve spent aboard P&O Cruises Britannia around the Mediterranean. As ever a call into Cádiz was on the agenda, enabling another trip on one of their elderly Daimler Trucks & Buses ‘0405N’s, a rare type these days.

The last two days have been spent docked in Palma on the island of Mallorca. A lovely place with some real charm, and most importantly a smart and varied transport network. Scania Group products rule the streets, however some 24 year old citaros can be found!

Next up is the Government operated Gibraltar Bus Company, who operate the majority of local bus services using a fleet of near identical MAN Truck&Bus Iberia Lions City vehicles as well as a handful of Ford Motor Company Transits.

Today P&O Cruises ‘Britannia’ can be found in Olden. A stunning port found on the Southern edge of Nordfjord. As ever the local transportation is my main focus, and here Yutong Bus & Coach products make up the bulk of the local fleet.
