‘The Post Office Tower’, 1973, felt tip pen on paper, 25 × 19cm.

An early drawing of The Post Office Tower, done in felt tip pen aged 5 years old in 1973. It seems to represent an early interest in art and architecture. As a child I loved this building, and still do!

‘Metropole’, 2004, oil on board, 95 x 47.5cm

Painted after working for the artist Patrick Hughes, known for his 'reverse perspective' paintings which create an optical illusion as you walk past. With his blessing I tried one. This is the result!

'Fulham Road, London.' (1956) Christopher Chamberlain favoured painting in adverse weather conditions, and often went out towards evening in search of fog and wintry wet surfaces, anything which provided increased spatial effects for his gritty depictions of London street scenes.

Edge of the city. 1994, oil, tempera and silver leaf on board, 36 x 27cm. Part factual and part imagined, based on my explorations around Stratford, East London, prior to its regeneration.
