Shein, the Chinese fashion ecom, is doing live sales on Instagram.

Looks like a QVC for younger generation.

Not sure how is going though, let’s if it grows in the future.

We delivered clothing to a private customer in Thailand from China.

She had to pay duty on it! Almost 30 usd.

I wonder if Temu/Shein can deliver over there and how they do?

Seems Thai government is going hard to protect local businesses through duties.

Why is registration to Canton Fair so complicated?🤦‍♂️

Looks like a registration to a government office from 20 years ago.

Website also looks it’s 1999.

Need make it easier and more user friendly.

Just hire someone from TikTok to make it work!

I have being saying forever that China is and continue to be the factory of the world (and that's why i doubled down to stay here).

Look at what's happening with electric cars right now:
China has put in production 47 new ships to transport cars (roll on/roll off).

We delivered goods into China and custom clearance was only 3 days, all in, including labels.

It's the first time so fast.

I know some big brands have same day clearance, (due to large amounts), but 3 days, not bad.

Just luck or more openness to import business?

Will see

I think duties on imports of Chinese electric cars are inevitable.

It will force Chinese manufacturers to invest directly in EU or US and play by market rules vs local competitors.

I think it will be win-win for everyone. (Jobs and taxes locally and biz for Chinese)

Nestle enters the China coffee shops arena.

Good luck in a very crowded market, although probably is a marketing effort more than create a sustainable business.

Another working Sunday: both lower consumption and lower productivity.

I feel this law has to change to keep up with the new society.

Long gone are the days of all people employed in factories 🏭

Chinese people prefer to enjoy more leisure time, spending and a long weekend.

Interesting 'integration' between Wechat moments and Taobao.

Checked some products on Taobao, later appear as ads in the Wechat moments.

A way for Wechat to monetise.

Late Saturday afternoon, last day of holidays, empty roads: tomorrow is working day so most people heading home.

Worst way to encourage consumption.

This shows the government cares only about production, which is good for export, but not for private people spending.

Local government (Shanghai) just renovated for free the building where I have the office.

New roof underlay, windows and repaint.

Pity that they forgot (or was too labour intensive) to hide the electrical cables.

Most building need a electrical systems makeover.
