As someone who grew up during war in Beirut, I can tell you the Mideast is a global testing ground for new weaponry. The ramifications of this pager attack in Lebanon should give chills to anyone paying attention.

Had the terrorist attack witnessed in Lebanon in the past 48hrs occurred in Europe, western media would be following victims, telling the story of a boy who lost an eye, a girl who lost her life... but these are only brown people, so they celebrate Israel's ingenuity. Repulsive.

Israel has attacked Lebanon 5x more frequently than the opposite since October. You’d never know this from the way most mainstream outlets report on the Lebanon/Israel crisis.

I know writers who’ve covered hip hop for 10 years looking for a staff job for $65,000. Meanwhile if you’ve got two years of copywriting experience Google will pay you a $100,000 — at least. What’s the incentive to cover the culture you know and love still?
