Namibia is making history & embracing gender equality, representation, and inclusive governance. We are now the only African country with a female President & Vice President. The cabinet has 14 Ministers, 8 of whom are women. The speaker of our National Assembly is also a woman.

A sobering fact from the World Press Freedom Day: 95% of all online deepfake videos are nonconsensual porn and 90% of those featured women. This has devasting implications for all women, including women in the media and public life generally. World Press Freedom Day (2025) #WPFD2025

1/2 What an honour to witness the historic proclamation of the 1991 Windhoek Declaration on Promoting an Independent and Pluralistic African Press into UNESCO's Memory of the World Register. This landmark document laid the groundwork for media freedom across Africa and beyond.

Thoroughly enjoyed meeting TU Delft lecturer Job Schroen & students who travelled 2 Namibia as part of the EXTREME Architecture course, which focuses on design & building in extreme environments, considering limited resources, local materials, local climate, & local cultures.
