The replies to this are unhinged. It’s perfectly fine to list work-in-progress, but naming top journals where your work is under review is just CV padding. Trust me, I've got a forthcoming submission to Phil Review which proves this.

Proposal: If a journal takes longer than six months to deliver an initial review, authors should be permitted to submit their manuscript to another journal without withdrawing it from the original review process.
