The English language is expressive, poetic, rich, and underrated

"The indifferent, anemic plainness of this place offered refuge from her scheming imagination and those who hunted her in its openness."

When I get into one of my POV character's head, my prose becomes lyrical, flowing, expressive. Because she would expect nothing less.

My memory is so bad I can unironically read my favorite book for the first time once every three years.

Snippet Sunday: It felt nervous in his hands. It should be. _What color is your blood?_ he thought. He plucked off one of the frog's legs and flicked it into the water. _Red, like mine._ It thrashed and croaked.

My mother has led a very traumatic and difficult life. She recently gave me a huge stack of papers which summarize what she's been through (she had been recording her experiences for decades). I feel obligated to write a story that incorporates this, but I'm intimidated

Done with the draft of act 3/5. Next task: rewrite previous act intermissions and start act 3/4 intermission. I hate to do it but the ones I had so far have to be thrown away in light of the directions I took the world building in act 3.

The kids like to rebel. Have no fear, third-person omniscient will become cool and edgy in due time.

Traveling is finding out places are more normal in the ways you expected them to be weird and more weird in ways you weren't expecting.
