20 years on from Afleet Alex getting up from his knees to win the Preakness, Journalism somehow recovers from horrendous interference to pull victory from the jaws of defeat. Wild drama!

A good read from Lydia Hislop in The Observer today. Celebrates astonishing jump racing career and achievements of Rachael Blackmore after decades of blind gender bias. Ends by hoping her legacy will bear fruit, which it deserves to. And gives you the chance to look up 'elipsis'.

Great article. Rachel Blackmore deserves all the credit she is receiving. She came across as such a humble person, deflecting the glory of her wins to others. Such a pity that racecourses are taking so long to upgrade their facilities for female jockeys.

Great article perfectly explaining how special Rachael’s achievements. How significant Gigginstown House Stud are in this story shouldn’t be underplayed as they can clearly spot a talented jockey!

👀 opening article by Lydia Racing has much to prove 53 years after females first rode under The Jockey Club rules, many courses are still unable to provide suitable facilities for their professional athletes In no other sport would such misogyny be acceptable

Great read this. We and the sport we love will miss Rachael. We can only hope that someone has been inspired by her success over the last number of years.

A great piece if you’re interesting in #womeninsport and #horseracing. Rachael proved women can reach the top but structures (and attitudes) within racing are the barrier

It’s a good job these two were first and second. They don’t like being separated and call to each other all the time, including in the winner’s enclosure. A super day at Yarmouth. I love the big days, but midweek racing at smaller tracks in the sunshine is hard to beat.

Whilst one may agree/disagree with changes made to conditions of the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot, what should be loudly applauded is the fact based reasoning behind these changes, by FPC chair Lydia Hislop. More of this needed in British racing . Bravo Lydia 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
