We've updated our info & guidance about #lupus and #COVID19Vaccines: lupusuk.org.uk/covid19-vaccin… There has been some confusion and misinformation regarding the AstraZeneca vaccine. We want to provide reassurance that this vaccine is considered safe for people on immunosuppressants.

This is shocking. Most people with lupus are diagnosed and treated by Rheumatologists, to have to wait SIX years for a first appointment allows a lot of time for damage to be done to the body that could be avoided by easily available medication.

Today is #WorldKidneyDay. The #kidneys are one of the most commonly affected organs in people with #lupus and early stages tend to have no obvious symptoms. It is important that urine is monitored regularly by a doctor. lupusuk.org.uk/wp-content/upl…

Delyth (who has #lupus) spoke to BBC News (UK) about feeling abandoned as COVID restrictions are lifted. Many immunosuppressed people have less protection from vaccines. We must be aware of those who are more at risk and continue to protect them. #WearAMask bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-578…

With restrictions being eased, we urge everyone to consider those who are still clinically extremely vulnerable (like people with #lupus) and those who aren't protected by the vaccine.
