We won Election Day and lost early voting. In the end we came within just 4,840 votes of beating Brown outright. Key factor in our coming out 6,000 votes short in early voting was Jon Wiley Price. He turned out 18,000 votes in early voting! Brown - 41.96% Lupe - 37.77%

I have been participating in a lot of forums lately. New Hope Baptist Church was on Thursday, and Dallas Democratic Forum was on Friday.

Celebrating over 70 years of law enforcement. Officer Battles retired with over 30 years of law enforcement, and Capt. Perkins retired with 41 years. Both spent that time with the Desoto Police Dept. What a wealth of knowledge and service.

I’m honored to celebrate with friends at the renaming of a school to, “Dr. Elba and Domingo Garcia West Dallas STEM school.”

Had a good time with former co-workers of the Dallas Sheriff's Dept. We hope to keep doing it about twice a year.

Trump called for a firing squad for Liz Cheney. We must reach out to the many Republicans who have not drank the MAGA cool-aid. Don't forget Adam Kinzinger at the Democratic Convention. We’re more similar than we are different. Let’s learn to work together again.

Last night, while driving home, the words of a song came to mind, "It's not OK but it's all going to be alright." Colin Allred stated last night that, "we must dust ourselves off, and get to work" Let’s find our alliances from all sides, and not let hate or anger lead the way.

I just received some great Christmas cards from the White House and the Vice President's house. But somehow I don't think I’ll be getting a holiday card from those addresses next year. 🤷
