Last shift: examined patients in hallways, assessed a peds patient on the floor (no room), over 20 admits, short RNs, access block the worst in 25 years of clinical practice, significantly worse in the last year, yet islanders were extremely patient and kind to us in the ED.

New national standards for long-term care were released today. There has been a consistent failure in leadership in improving long-term care up to this point. Premier Dennis King must not ignore the issues and he cannot refuse to implement the standards released. #peipoli

“With temps plunging in the next few days, it is absolutely critical we have every resource possible available to Islanders at risk of freezing,” says @karlabernardmla in call to Min Matthew MacKay to show compassion & caution for Islanders facing extreme cold. #peipoli 1/2

More money without better management, good planning, more accountability, and proper monitoring of results won't necessarily provide better health care services for Islanders. PEI needs a government that has a clear vision, a strong plan, and the ability to get it done #peipoli

Money alone will not solve healthcare challenges on #PEI. More money will not stop the inappropriate political interference that harms our healthcare system. That is a problem that experts & frontline have been telling @DennyKing since he became premier. #peipoli 1/4

Yes, Trish Altass knew this was a problem long before Derek Key resigned, but the Tories absolutely refused to fix it. They could have. They didn't. #peipoli

It's almost as if we've been calling for government to act and they were never interested in fixing these issues. *checks receipts* No, it's exactly like that.

Having spoken to a lot of people in health care, rest assured, no one is telling me the person working the hardest in health care is..... Dennis King

Well Summerside, it's official. I will be putting my name forward again in the next election. It has honestly been the privilege of my life to work on your behalf, and there's still so much work to do.

RELEASE: Islanders struggling under fallout from recent severe weather events need help now: “Many whose pipes froze are still without access to heat or water. Will @infopei help people who cannot afford the repairs needed,” asks @lundlynne #peipoli peigreencaucus.ca/2023/02/island…

Another Dr who is not retiring, but choosing to leave because of challenges within the current healthcare system on #PEI. How many times does the PC Government need to hear the system is broken before finally doing something? #peipoli
