Anti-homeless policies hurt everyone, unhoused or housed. These policies mean you can't find a place to sit, use a bathroom, or often even throw away trash when you're out in a city. But people hate homeless people so much they're willing to immiserate themselves to punish them.

All these battles, from Echo Park to New York, are about the same shit - capturing public resources for the private gain of speculators, developers, and wealthy homeowners.

This is wild. Villanueva says he’s been defunded and doesn’t have enough patrols for unincorporated parts of LA. FYI his annual budget is $3.3 billion. But he has enough money and cop cars and sheriffs to patrol a jurisdiction that’s supposed to be covered by LAPD🤔
