Off on our summer holidays! A rare thing indeed.... Thanks for all your support in the first half of this year - we've been involved in some great publications, had some brilliant feedback, and are the busiest we've ever been. Onwards and upwards - see you in a few weeks!

Well, we've let the Twitter side of Lumphanan Press slip over the last wee while... mostly through being packed out with work. But the new year's resolution is finally kicking in - expect regular tweets forthwith!

Today's tasks - finish new artwork for our Mslexia ✨ advert (& a fine magazine it is too) and complete not one but two proofreading jobs... all before picking up the kids from nursery. Time to get back to the grindstone me thinks #freelancelife

Working on two ebooks today - sometimes they can be so easy to format and make, but other times... ouch, they just don't do what you want, no matter how much you grumble at your computer screen. Grumble grumble.

Nice to see a wee mention of us here on the Scottish Book Trust blog; pleased to have had a small part to play in the long road to republication for Kate Tough & her excellent book! scottishbooktrust.com/blog/writing/2…

Brexit blues getting you down? Rees-mogg's repose haunting your waking hours? Why not pre-order some poetry! Twelve of Scotland's finest poets may just be the tonic you need: tapsalteerie.co.uk/product/makar-…

Hey folks, we're looking for an illustrator to work on a self-publishing project - sort-of vaguely fantasy-style character drawings. Preferrably Scotland-based but no disaster if not. There will be money involved! Any interest/recommendations?

Counted it up and we're currently working on 16 different books, all in various degrees of completion. Just dug out the A3 paper to write my to do list on. Phew!

Being involved with this project has been a real privilege - it's a deeply moving book & a truly collective response to the historic event of the pandemic. Alec has done a great job putting it all together: stewedrhubarb.org/product/i-reme…

Don't think I'll ever tire of getting sent plant lists from printing companies, feels like the real sharp end of publishing/printing geekery. Now trying desperately to avoid spending time on youtube watching all these machines at work...
