I finally got around to starting this read today lukhanyo calata. Unintentionally perhaps a symbolic day to have done so. A poignant reminder of blood spilt for a greater good.

In 2003, the TRC listed hundreds of names for prosecution. In 2023, no one has been prosecuted. 20 years later, many of them are now dead & the victims families including lukhanyo calata deserve the truth. This week on Judge for Yourself with NPASouthAfrica enca.com/shows/judge-yo…

JUST IN: The inquest into the apartheid police murders of the Cradock 4 - whose “removal from society” was discussed by the apartheid State Security Council (that included FW de Klerk) before they were butchered - has been reopened. This is HUGE. justice.gov.za/m_statements/2…

Rob Forbes Fort Calata was a kind, heroic teacher who used his own money to pay for sandwiches for his pupils who couldn’t afford food. He was 28 when he and Mathew Goniwe, Sparrow Mkonto and Sicelo Mhlauli were murdered by apartheid police because of their activism. So painful. So unjust

lukhanyo calata I am so sorry your families will not get the justice they deserved for your loss. I do hope the truth will out and I hope there can be some closure found in that, at least. I'm so sorry Lukhanyo.

Karyn Maughan Wow, the THIRD time this inquest has been reopened. Covered the 2nd one as a very junior journalist in '93. Let's hope this one produces conclusive answers for the families.

Today marks 30 years since the end of #apartheid rule in South Africa. ✊🏼✊🏾✊🏿 Journalist lukhanyo calata explains what it was like to live under apartheid in South Africa and calls for an end to Israel’s racist system of apartheid against Palestinians.
