A wee explainer video about our work on #Krusatodon from the #IsleofSkye. Features amazing 3D reconstructions created by Matt Humpage, 3D printed at 3x life size, including the complete model of the adult skeleton 🤩 #ScottishFossils

I was lucky enough to teach a course w/Randy Singer, PhD/ランディ・シンガー. Day 1: Students couldn't name a favorite museum & didn't know what scientists do at museums. Day 10: all students reported they realized museums were important, more appreciated the outdoors, + a lot wanted to be biologists.

Delighted to be co-author on this new paper led by my colleague Elis Newham, using a large dataset of cementum increments to explore the evolution of mammal life history. Looks like Jurassic crown #mammals were already living faster lives! #MesozoicMammals science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

But today's highlight was in the archives rather than collection: sketches for reconstructions of Permian tetrapods appearing in Case's "The Permo-Carboniferous Red Beds of North America and their Vertebrate Fauna" (1915), complete with notes from Case.
